At a fund-raiser for a Haitian missionary school honoring donor Jackson Kinkaid, terrorists kidnap a group of the guests. Kinkaid, realizing that the men were looking for him, follows the terrorists, hoping to rescue the hostages, especially his good friend Sister Kate, who once saved his life. Meanwhile, Alexa Marlowe, an agent from a nongovernmental covert group called Sentinels, is assigned to the case. She must lead her team, with the addition of Kinkaid, through the steamy rain forests of Cuba to locate and rescue the hostages, knowing a major hurricane is on the way. Marlowe and Kinkaid have a history, and neither is quite sure they can trust the other. Told from multiple points of view, the fast-paced, violent story is compelling, though one must suspend some disbelief in the face of Kinkaid’s heroic rescue. This third in the Sweet Justice series brings in characters from previous titles including former bounty hunter, now newly trained Sentinels agent Jessie Beckett and computer-expert Seth Harper.
